In 2017, AM sought to commercialize its antenna technologies and spun out a new company, Antenum, Inc. This startup is actively disrupting the Connected Car market with CALPRO-the first high-performance, all-in-one, conformal antenna that sits in an enclosure hidden under the roof of a car, leaving no visible antennas, nor bumps inside or outside the vehicle. It handles all the bands required of today’s cars and has performance that exceeds the ubiquitous sharkfin antenna and AM/FM antennas built into the back window of many cars.
